Arms and Armor
|Overall Length:||43.5 inches|
|Blade Length:||33.75 inches|
|Point of Balance:||2 inches from cross|
|Center of Percussion:||20.5 inches from cross|
Performance Review: This sword is the first of Oakeshott's class 2 i.e. more thrust then cut oriented swords. As such it's balance point is much closer to the cross then I am used to. However thanks to its large amount of profile taper this sword still balances well and is reasonably quick especially when used two handed.
Appearance: This is as with almost all Arms and Armor pieces a beautiful reproduction. It is very cleanly executed which must have been difficult due to the octagonal cross section of the type 8 pommel.
