This is a Jody Samson Fantasy Longsword. It is called Serpent Tail, a name I believe Jody conferred upon it. In keeping with the name I elected to go with a reptilian theme.

This is a scabbard I did for a Vladimir Cervenka bidenhander. I've put it in this fantasy section because to the best of my knowledge bidenhanders were not scabbarded but rather were kept in supply wagons with pole arms or simply slung over the shoulder like a rifle on the march. The scabbard features an imperial eagle motif in the center and on the chape as might befit a bidenhander in use by German troops in the employ of the Holy Roman Emperor.

Full length picture of Cervenka hand and a half. The scabbard is suitable for a 14th century sword, but since this is a fantasy inspired sword it ended up here in the fantasy category.

Busse AK-47 "combat katana." This particular customer wanted a non-traditional-type saya to go along with his non-traditional-type sword. This saya admirably fits that bill. Rather than being lacquered, as is traditional, this saya was plasticoated with a texturing element mixed into the coating. This created a tough finish which feels very similar to the black anodized coating on the blade itself. It is provided a matte finish, which is what this customer wanted.

Wire decoration helps delineate your scabbard.
Wire decoration was often used in period for decorative work on sword pommels and hilts.
This is an example of the sort of work we typically do with twisted wire.

Add braided leather work as a decorative touch or as part of your suspension system.
Here in one of my earlier efforts I used braided leather in the suspension system for a Del Tin Falchion.
Add a chape and locket, ranging from simple to
elaborate, like the chape shown here.
