Performance Review: The Baron is a very large sword. It weighs in at a comparable weight to the Arms and Armor GBS, yet it doesn't have the blade presence of that piece. In short, although it is large the Baron does not handle like it is large and in fact could be swung for some time one handed. This sword is very nicely balanced and handles quite deceptively for a sword of its size.
Appearance: This sword is all that you would expect from Albion Armorers. The blade is as close to perfect as a CNC mill and human inspection can make it. The fittings are well done and the fit and finish is very nice. The cross on the pommel is well executed and symmetrical. The grip is up to Albion's usual sterling standards.
Conclusion: If you are in the market for an Oakeshott Type XIIa sword I heartily recommend this one. It's a gorgeous piece, it handles well and you definitely will not be disappointed.
