Performance Review:
In many ways this sword handles much like the Del Tin 2130 in that it is balanced in favor of powerful cutting blows
with a lot of momentum behind them. That is in all probability this would be a great sword for a horseman. As can be seen from the
statistics above this sword is very much balanced towards the cut and is not what I would call a “fencing” sword, but rather a powerful
cutting sword. In that respect I believe that it is one of the more accurately balanced Del Tins that it has been my pleasure to hold.
It is not light, it is not quick… but then neither was the original.
Appearance:
The blade is cleanly ground with no ripples, the fullers were equal on both sides of the blade. The cross and pommel were nicely finished
with no tooling marks and nicely peened together. One item of particular note on this sword is its massive Oakeshott Type B pommel. This
is an unusual pommel type on a production sword as most reproduction companies favor wheel pommels or the type T scent stopper variants.
Conclusion:
I really like this sword. It’s a massive beast of a sword, feeling even heavier then it actually is. That is, however right in line with
what this sword is supposed to feel like and a very nice Del Tin specimen in my opinion.
