Performance Review:
This sword appears to be a dedicated cutter. The tip is very spatulate and although it could thrust in a pinch, it is not well suited to that purpose. The sword balances well but the small grip seriously compromises a standard grip.
Appearance:
I was somewhat surprised by the diminutive size of this sword. The grip is exceedingly short as per the historical original. The blade also has the illusion of being very small because of its large width. There were some casting marks both on the pommel and the cross.
Other:Â At Arms and Armor’s price point this is on the lower cost side of quality production Viking Swords, but due to it’s size, fit and finish and the ahistorical nature of it’s pommel construction I can’t recommend this sword.
