Performance Review:
This sword is a reasonably short model and although the point of balance is not pulled back as close to the hilt as others I have reviewed it still handles like a shorter sword, that is the sword is very fast and allows the user to maintain a lot of control. As is usual also with swords of this length I do not believe that this sword will strike with as much authority as some of its longer brethren. This is often the tradeoff with a shorter blade, power and authority is traded for speed and agility.
Appearance:
As is usually the case with Albion’s Next Generation line of swords this sword has a high level of fit and finish. The blade is a prototypical type XIV in cross section and is nicely executed with no waviness or tool marks etc. The hilt furniture although fairly plain is excellently executed with no casting marks or other unevenness, the grip is nice and tight as is the wrap.
Conclusion:
Although this sword does not stand out in either the flash and pizzazz department nor is it particularly exceptional in its handling abilities it is as its namesake suggests a sturdy workmanlike sword, unpretentious well made, sturdy and fully capable of getting the job done.
