Performance Review: Despite its name this sword handles very much like the civilian rapiers that I have handled, that is it has excellent point control and would be very good in the thrust, but would be very hard to cut with, it is simply not designed for cutting.
Appearance: As is usually the case with Arms and Armor this sword is aesthetically a very attractive piece. The sword I handled had blued hilt components accented with bronze decorative elements. This, combined with a very attractively finished blade with a small ricasso and triple fullers made for a very nice package. The blade had no noticeable assymetries or grind marks. The components of the hilt were nicely combined with Arms and Armor's usual attention to detail.
Conclusion: Don't let the name fool you this sword is a rapier in all but name. It is however a very attractive rapier, nicely put together and one that I would be glad to add to my collection.
