Performance Review: This is not a light rapier, but is balanced and handles basically like every other high quality rapier I have handled, that is to say that it is optimized for the thrust.
Appearance: The Milanese is a beauiful sword after having handled it I have to say that it is one of my top three favorite rapiers from Arms and Armor, the other top two being the German Rapier and the Writhen rapier. The blade matched Arms and Armor's usual high standards for fit and finish being perfectly straight with no grind marks or wripples. The hilt and pommel are beautifully complimentary with hundreds of tiny facets. The handle wrap is the excellent wire wrap that I have come to expect from Arms and Armor. This is an absolutely gorgeous rapier.
Conclusion: This rapier lives up to the normal Arms and Armor expectations when it comes to handling characteristics and surpasses all expectations when it comes to aesthetics. This rapier is on my must have list.
