Performance Review: Despite it's obvious fantasy derivation, this sword did handle quite well. I believe that the extremely long handle (in relation to the blade) had a lot to do with this. I believe that this particular piece would make a nasty little chopper.
Appearance: Like the other Little John sword that I reviewed this one has an obvious fantasy overtone of a rather macabre nature. The long handle is composed entirely of a large cow bone and the "cross" is in the shape of a human skull, the blade juts from the crown of the skull. In terms of fit and finish the sword is quite good. The bone was well worked, the blade was clean without ripples or flaws. The skull casting was well done if somewhat chunky in design.
Conclusion: Again, as a matter of personal preference I can't say that this particular aesthetic appeals to me all that much. That aside this sword handles well and is nicely executed. If the aesthetic runs more to your particular taste you might well want to contact Little John for a similar piece.
